Meet Lauren: “I’ll Give it a Whirl”

If you ever attend a meeting with Lauren Lee, you'll probably notice a couple of things.
First, she'll make a comment with such calm sarcasm that you won't realize it's a joke until she starts laughing. Then, you'll notice that she genuinely enjoys tackling complicated problems and that the bigger and messier they are, the more interested she gets.
That's because Lauren loves a challenge, and it doesn't really matter what it is. One day she might be building a new analysis, helping a client understand a report, simplifying a ridiculously complicated data process, or learning new software. And the next day, she might be trying to figure out how to pave a mile-long driveway so her family stops tracking sand through the house or making sure her chickens don't freeze during the winter. Whatever challenge lands in her lap, Lauren's first reaction is usually the same:
"Bring it on."
She's the kind of person who loves learning new things and isn't intimidated by work she's never done before. As Lauren puts it,
"I'll give it a whirl."
That's one of the reasons 4WARN® is such a great fit for her. She spends her days digging into data, researching digital threats, building analyses, and helping turn thousands of data points into reports clients can actually use. Her favorite part is when she gets to walk clients through report findings and answer their questions. That's when her work stops being a collection of charts and graphs and starts becoming a plan to help companies reduce digital risk.
"Sometimes clients are shocked by what we show them," Lauren said. "They've never seen malicious links or coordinated targeting of their organization before. That reaction tells me we're showing them something that has real business impact. It's a little scary at first, but then we get to help them do something about it."
That’s when Lauren feels like her work becomes truly valuable. When a client understands the data and has an “aha moment,” she knows she can help them implement a solution.
Her curiosity and willingness to jump into anything have also made her an important part of how 4WARN has grown. She's always looking for a better way to do something. That might mean tweaking an analysis, improving a process to find digital threats, or making a report easier for a client to understand. If she sees a chance to make something better, she will always take it.
Recently, Lauren has taken on one of her biggest adventures yet: becoming a mom. These days, one of her favorite hobbies is what she jokingly calls "watching Baby TV," also known as staring at her daughter as she discovers new smiles and milestones that happen overnight. And when the baby's napping, Lauren and her husband are constantly improving something around the house, building a bonfire, hopping on their 4-wheeler, or finding another excuse to spend time with their large extended family.
That willingness to take on something new, ask questions, and keep learning is what makes Lauren who she is. It's why she's such a valuable resource for our clients, an awesome teammate, and an important part of 4WARN. And if the challenge feels completely overwhelming, there's a good chance she'll break the tension with a perfectly timed joke.
